Final Project

Harry Bertioa was an Italian creator that was inspired by nature, by the sounds and colors that were around him. He created musical statues and one of a kind seating. I used this idea to create spaces that will sooth individuals in a time of hardship. I placed his statues throughout the building for optimal viewing and used the colors of them for the floor. The lighting fixtures mimic the artwork hanging on the walls. The one of a kind furniture, like the diamond chair, were add to create a warm and cozy feeling.

elements and principles of design

http://www.torfehgroup.com/en/images/interiordesign.jpg
The strong elements of this interior are line, texture, color and light. There are lines through out the space, they are in the staircase, the flooring, and the edges of the furniture are straight lines as well. I believe this is a nice balance in texture the wall and furniture are smooth while the wood floor and rug have a texture to them. The wood also gives a random pattern in the floor of dark and light wood. This helps tie the different shades of brown in the furniture. The color in this interior is soft. The blue accents pop out against the white around it. And the space is nicely lighted with natural light from the glass door and from upstairs. The strong principles of this interior are balance, rhythm, unity, variety, and harmony. As stated before the texture is balanced nicely. The space itself is also balance since is furniture on both sides of the staircase. The solid lines in the space create a suttle rhythm. The unity of the colors helps all of the accents work very well together. While variety of the different color woods planks and other accents give it a unique look. These two give the room harmony. There is a general feeling of the room and this feeling is not lost due to randomness of items.
